Full course description
First came the shock... then came the block, as the astounding world of artificial intelligence took education by storm in 2023 with the emergence of ChatGPT! Tech-savvy students quickly discovered and began using it and other groundbreaking AI tools, while many teachers were left trying to block it or unprepared to manage the challenges. This created a state of disruption in traditional teaching, learning, and research methods that will forever be altered. As the panic begins to subside, and the realization that the AI revolution is here to stay, teachers are now seeking strategies and solutions that offer innovative and beneficial use of these tools for themselves AND their students. In this workshop, we will examine the current challenges and changes, investigate ground-breaking tools and applications, contemplate new approaches to teaching and learning, and explore the threats and ethical implications.
